Field Trips

Liability Waiver

Altacal Audubon Society requires that the Liability Waiver be completed and signed before participating in any field trip. Each participant only needs to complete one per year for Altacal (although this does NOT cover the liability waiver for the Snow Goose Festival). The Field Trip Coordinator will keep the Master File of all completed forms and send the information to the Field Trip Leaders before their trips.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Pre-registration required

  • Signing an Altacal Audubon Society Liability Waiver is a requirement to attend all field trips. Altacal Audubon’s scheduled field trips are a great way to experience a variety of birding areas, with an experienced trip leader. Occasionally “Pop-up” Birding Field Trips, that aren’t listed here, will be posted on the Altacal Facebook Page.

    Bring Back the Pollinators
Presented by Michelle Graydon, Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation

The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, a research based international organization established in 1972, is dedicated to the conservation of insects and other invertebrates. Because pollinating species are considered keystone indicators of environmental health, by way of their supporting plant reproduction and diversity, Xerces’ programs emphasize creating and preserving habitat for these all important species, including Bumble bees, native bees and Monarch butterflies.
Michelle Graydon, B.S. Biological Sciences, CSU Chico, Xerces Society Ambassador, Bumble bee Watch citizen scientist, Butte County Master Gardener and macrophotography enthusiast, will share the work of the Xerces Society and have information for how you can make a difference in your home and communities.
Michelle recently returned from a macro and nature photography workshop in Brazil, photographing, among other natural wonders, bioluminescent termite mounds in the Cerrado, the largest grassland in the world.
